New Audience Symposia
The digital series ‘New Audience Symposia’ brings together experts of selected social institution categories to explore the challenges and impact of live classical performances on diverse audiences.
Consortium partners, staff members and representatives from social institutions across Europe, researchers, and interested guests engage in dialogues to share experiences, feedback, critiques, and observations from concert experiences in three distinctive settings:
I – The special education school as a concert hall
II – The psychiatric hospital as a concert hall and
III – The prison as a concert hall
Topics for these interdisciplinary exchanges include the health benefits for audiences, changes and/or improvements in attention quality, and impacts on relationships across diverse settings such as between children and teachers, patients and caretakers, and inmates and facility staff after a Musethica concert. The symposia are held once a year for each setting, resulting in 12 events in total.
