Musethica Session Zaragoza in May

The Musethica session held in Zaragoza from May 16th–23rd, 2026, brought together tutor Mariano García and the saxophone ensemble Osimun Quartet: Fátima Alcázar, Ricard Martínez, Marta Cid and Carlos Segura. Throughout an intensive week of work and performances, the musicians presented a diverse repertoire combining arrangements by the quartet itself of works by Joseph Haydn, Felix Mendelssohn and György Ligeti , alongside pieces by and Henryk Wieniawski and Joan Pérez-Villegas.

The session included a total of 12 concerts in collaborating social institutions and public venues, alongside one open final rehearsal. The social concerts took place at institutions including the ATADES–San Martín de Porres Special Education School (2 concerts) , School Lucien Briet (2 concerts), the Daroca Penitentiary Centre and Santo Tomás de Aquino Residence in Daroca, Parque Goya Kairós Day and Occupational Centre, Psychiatry department at Royo Villanova Hospital, Centro SocioLaboral, Fundación Federico Ozanam and CPEPA Gómez Lafuente.

The public concerts included an open dress rehearsal at Centro Las Armas and the final concert on May 23rd at Sala Luis Galve, Auditorio de Zaragoza.

This edition stood out for its high artistic quality, international scope, strong social impact, and excellent audience reception, while successfully establishing new collaborations. A particular highlight was the event of the 500th concert of the initiative: “1000+ Concerts: Innovating Higher Music Education through Social Inclusion”. This concerts presented the halfway mark of reaching 1.000 concerts!
