Musethica Returns to Warsaw
From October 14th-18th, classical music once again reached Warsaw’s hospitals, special needs schools, support centers, and care facilities. The fall concerts marked the sixth edition of Musethica in Warsaw.
Each Musethica session includes intensive workshops led by a tutor and a series of concerts held in venues where live classical music is rarely heard. Young performers not only refine their instrumental and artistic skills through rehearsing selected works, but also work on making their interpretations more communicative and emotionally resonant. The close interaction with audiences allows both musicians and listeners to share experiences. The project demonstrates that music is a universal language of emotions, accessible to everyone.
The October concert programme featured two string sextets: the Prelude to the opera Capriccio, Op. 85 by Richard Strauss, and Souvenir de Florence, Op. 70 by Pyotr Tchaikovsky. The October session tutor, cellist Emil Rovner, was joined by participants of the 14th Sinfonia Varsovia Academy:
Julia Kościukiewicz and Sophia Steger (violins)
Urszula Karch and Anna Zakrzewska (violas)
Palina Horbach (cello)
The Musethica autumn concerts took place in venues such as:
Special Primary School No. 240
The Capital City Care and Treatment Center
A youth shelter run by the Po DRUGIE Foundation
Bielański Hospital
In total, the musicians visited nine such locations across Warsaw. Two public concerts took place at Kicia Kocia café-club (al. Stanów Zjednoczonych 68) on October 16th. On October 18th, the week concluded with the final concert at Nowa Miodowa Concert Hall of the State Music School Complex No. 1.
